This is a basic tutorial for a ribbon holder. This is such an easy way to make a holder for your ribbons and can be adjusted for any size that fits your area. Make 1, 2, 3, 4 or even more. I still need another one! My walls were not finished yet when I hung them but here is how they are made...
Purchased a 1" x 5" x8' and 1" x 2" x 6' piece of pine wood.
Cut Wood to these lengths:
2 @ 1" x 5" x 34 1/2" ~ (Bottom and Back Pieces)
2 @ 1" x 5" x 5 1/4" ~ (End Pieces)
1 @ 1" x 2" 34 1/2" ~ (Front Piece)...the picture says 1 1/2" but that is obviously incorrect
Nail the Bottom Piece to the Back Piece by laying the Bottom Piece down and butting the Back Piece up; nailing from the back of the holder. Nail the Front Piece to the front, top of the Bottom Piece. Nail the End Pieces to the ends. All done nailing.
Fill nail holes with wood filler and prime and paint. You can paint with a brush or spray paint.
Hang by screwing right through the holder or you can add hangers on the back. Make sure you hit a stud or use mollies so it doesn't fall off after you fill it with all your pretty ribbons!
