Simple, Spicy Hummus Recipe

This is a simple and spicy basic recipe for hummus.  I like mine spicy, but you can alter the amount of Hot Sauce or crushed peppers to take the spicy down a bit.

1 Can of Garbanzo or Chick Beans
2 tsp Frank's Hot Sauce or your brand (my favorite!)
1 TBS Lemon Juice
1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
1/4 C Juice from Beans
1 TBS Olive Oil
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1 Cloves of Garlic

Reserve the juice from your can of Garbanzo Beans.  Put the beans in the food processor.  Add Hot Sauce, Lemon Juice, Crushed Pepper, Olive Oil, Sea Salt and Garlic Cloves.

Process these ingredients for about 30 seconds.  Add 1/4 Cup of the Juice reserved from the beans.  Process for about 1 - 2 minutes until smooth.  You can add additional juice if needed, but probably not.

Spread on Whole Wheat Pita Bread for a nice snack or use as a dip or spread.

You can usually store your hummus for about 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for 1 month.  If freezing, you may want to add a little olive oil if the hummus is a bit dry after thawing.
