"I'll Start Monday"...

OK, today was the Monday I am going to "start" again!  So far I am off to a good start...Left for the gym at 7am, walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes and came home...that's a start at least...I figure if I can get in the habit of doing this daily that the 20 minutes will eventually build to 45.  I can't get ahead of myself because then it overwhelms me and I give up...

This weekend I made about 8 more crocheted hats.  I decided to make the hats and donate them to a children's cancer hospital.  A special "friend" who has lost a dear grandson to cancer is helping me with this. I have been fortunate enough to not be knowledgeable in this area, so Ginny is going to help me.  Most of the hast were made using this pattern: http://www.allfreecrochet.com/Hats/Quick-Flower-Hat

I am trying to get creative with the hats but they all seem to be on the girly side.  Ginny suggested to add beads and make them really funky...My next batch is going to be more funky, definitely.  I have absolutely TONS of yarn to work with so I am going to try to work with what I have for now, but I know my addiction in the fabric stores will lead to more yarn buying...Next purchased will be the camouflage yarn and I am excited about that.  How sad to be excited about a yarn purchase!! Oh my I guess my needs are small and I should be grateful!

I am anxious to see where my creative, ADD bones lead me today but I do know that my bones better be back at that gym tomorrow morning!!

Time to "Get Going"

This was the official "End of  Summer" weekend and it was full and busy but with a real whole lot of nothing!  I attended a craft show this weekend and met some more vendors that sparked my interest again.  My passion is small businesses and I love talking to the owners and I plan to post links to their sights in the future through this blog. I have to take this slow since I don't know exactly the direction I am going, but I just know that I have to start "going".

After closing my 25+ year sewing business last year, I didn't think I was going to miss the sewing world...boy was I wrong!  I have a full time job that pays the bills but I miss terribly my creative side.  I started sewing again and have put my talents in the children's and baby world.

I will be posting pictures of the items I am making and some information about them that inspired me.  At this point I just need to get going....
